Pago teams up with Weston Park Cancer Charity

We are delighted to announce that in 2017 we will be supporting our chosen charity, Weston Park Cancer Charity in Sheffield.

The agreement will see the Pago Fruit Juice brand being the official premium fruit juice brand of Weston Park Cancer Charity. 24p per case (12x200ml) of all sales of the juice in outlets sold in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire will go straight to the charity which funds vital research and aims to improve the treatment and care for those suffering with cancer in the region.

Established over 125 years ago and now sold in over 30 countries, we offer a unique range of 14 premium fruit juices in the UK with no colourings, artificial aromas, sweeteners or preservatives. The range is available in flavours including orange, pear, apple, strawberry, peach and blackcurrant.

Weston Park Cancer Charity is an organisation that is held close to the heart at Pago. Our sole UK distributor is Premium Beverages, and MD Marvin Henshaw suffered from testicular cancer when he was only 23. His cousin, Craig Hall was then diagnosed with the disease and sadly passed away.

While unwell, Marvin was under the care of Weston Park Hospital, which treats patients from all over South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire, and is one of only a handful of specialist cancer hospitals in England. Since his recovery, Marvin and a team of amateur cyclists and ex-professional football players Jon Newsome (Sheffield Wednesday) and Dane Whitehouse (Sheffield United) have been raising funds for Weston Park Cancer Charity, and to date have raised £26,000 in the past 18 months alone.

Marvin says: “My motivation to help raise money for Weston Park Cancer Charity is done in honour of my cousin and respect to the staff and specialists who helped me recover. This enabled me to live a happy life, get married & have 3 wonderful children.”

The campaign started to roll out at the end of 2016 and will continue throughout 2017 with bespoke point of sale developed for hotel, café bars, food pubs and restaurants.

The charity needs to raise over £2 million this year to enable the funding of committed and new projects that will keep patients at the forefront of cancer treatment.

Throughout 2016 the charity will fund various projects to enable the continued improvement of Weston Park Hospital; including the expansion of research studies, improving the way cancer treatments are delivered and supporting the ongoing care provisions of patients and their families affected by cancer.
